NYNY RYKE comes from "Kabyè" a northern Togolese dialect, meaning “Only Sweetness” or “Very Good”. It carries a personal connection to the designer’s origins and the generosity, strength and beauty she seeks to express through her work.
NYNY RYKE is a contemporary ethical fashion brand founded by designer Nyny Ryke Goungou. Born in Togo, raised in Italy where she studies Fashion and now based in London, Nyny brings these influences into a creative language shaped by heritage, cultural blend and individuality.

At the heart of our collections are handwoven Togolese textiles, brought into dialogue with the precision and elegance of Italian tailoring. Kente, batik, and natural raffia meet structured silhouettes and fluid proportions.

Our signature textiles reflect this continuing conversation. Kentelig explores the softness and fluidity of handwoven cotton, bringing a new dimension to ancestral knowledge.

Elasken introduces stretch into our interpretation of Kente, while our Masai Togo fabric expresses the same creative intention: connecting cultures, memory and modernity through cloth.

Beginning with made-to-measure creations in 2014 and developing into the business established in 2021, the brand grew from a personal passion into a shared endeavour with skilled weavers, tailors and makers.
With production rooted in Togo and selected tailoring collaborations in Italy, we are building a brand that brings Togolese craftsmanship to an international audience while maintaining a close relationship with the people behind every collection.
