NOTRE MONDE ÉTHIQUE ET DURABLE

De l’origine à… Un peu de notre histoire

Honorer les techniques traditionnelles, le développement communautaire et les racines ouest-africaines durables.

Our Story

Nyny Ryke is not only a fashion brand, but also a combination of words which means “Only sweetness,” “Cuteness,” or “So good” in the Togolese dialect, Kabyé (West Africa).

The brand was officially founded in 2014, initially starting as an exclusive, niche, made-to-measure label. Between 2020 and 2021, this lifetime passion officially became a business.

Building a team of skilled artisans around the brand and fostering collaborations that span across continents demonstrates our commitment to quality craftsmanship and a global perspective. By embracing diverse techniques and collaborating with artisans from different backgrounds, Nyny Ryke offers unique, innovative products that resonate with customers worldwide. This approach not only enriches the brand’s offerings but also creates opportunities for cultural exchange and mutual learning among artisans.

Land, Where Tradition & Modernity Meet

Ethical fashion for Nyny Ryke means being able to work on what she is passionate about while deeply valuing interpersonal relationships, celebrating craftsmanship, and honoring our roots. These are the definitive factors that make our ideas, custom fabrics, and garments completely original and unique.

What role does the brand play in sustainability?

At least 80% of the materials and fabrics we use to produce and ship come directly from companies that prioritize sustainability—certified organic, eco-friendly, recycled, and up-cycled options wherever possible.

We also provide direct contributions through:

• Structural patternmaking and advanced sewing courses provided to support local tailors in Togo.

• Active programs improving the everyday working and living conditions of young women and men, expanding their advanced design knowledge alongside securing fair, equitable pay for everyone.

Why Slow Fashion?

A thoughtful, conscious approach built on innovation, intentional production, and community transformation.

Innovation Meets Tradition

The development of our unique signature textiles, ‘Kentelig’ and ‘Elasken’, demonstrates a deep dedication to innovation while honoring traditional heritage techniques and materials. We believe in artisanship with a modern twist and a fusion of cultures.

  • All creations are artfully handmade with exceptional, high-level savoir-faire.
  • We utilize timeless, season-less, high-quality raw materials like cotton.

Made-to-Order Philosophy

We design exclusive capsule collections of apparel and accessories built from the ground up starting right from our textiles.

  • While limited stock is occasionally available, most elements are made on an intentional made-to-order basis.
  • This allows us to consistently prioritize quality and authenticity over quantity, proving slow fashion is the future.

Our Co-Ops & 2030 Vision

We partner with a dedicated cooperative of women in the North of Togo (near the Burkina Faso border) where we source our primary raw materials, alongside skilled artisans in Lomé.

  • We work with localized artisans who meticulously craft our custom lines of bags and shoes.
  • The Sustainable Goal: We are driving operations to be fully plastic-free across all products and production facilities by 2030.
